In Apartheid museum in Johannesburg, there is a part where there are pictures of all kinds of South Africans - explaining with how all these people came to South Africa and made the nation.
Each picture of people is posted on a huge mirror and I did not know the reason why it is decorated on a mirror till just now.
It then just came across to my mind that the reason it is decorated on mirror would be in order to reflect you on the mirror with them. When you see them in the mirror, you don't only see them, but also yourself - walking and making history together.
We all have different skin colours, cultural backgrounds, heights, weights, hair style and languages. Despite of the differences, we still need to live together and make things work.
Thus, in order to achieve that what is required would be respect and understanding.
Without respect and understanding, it may only bring conflicts and arguments.
In my opinion, that mirror decoration was trying to say that to us.
Despite of all the differences, we are still the same human being.
Although we have different physical appearances we all have the same blood colour which make us alive.
Although it could seem like the migrant man on the mirror is walking alone, however you will sooner or later notice yourself with him on the mirror.
History repeats by itself.
and He could be you.

Look at the massive clouds over there!
Can you guess what is hidden inside of the clouds?
Can you see?
It's the Table Mountain hidden inside.
People usually say Cape Town has four seasons one day.
That is pretty much true - It can be really hot during the day and cold and windy in the evening.
and when you see that massive clouds over Table Mountain, must bring a jacket with you.
Oh, for girls, NO SKIRTS unless you want to do some strip shows for random people on the street. Haha.

Hello airport.
Do you like to be in the airport?
I like the airport.
I think every different kind of emotion can be found in the airport - not only happiness and sadness, but also emptiness, satisfaction, calm, boredom, excitement, anger, fear, hurry and more.

How about you?
My friend hates going to the airport, because she thinks the airport is a sad place with all the tears. Also, the parking fee is usually ridiculously expensive in the most of airports in the world.

For me, saying bye would not be always a sad thing.
We say bye to see each other again later - could take longer though.
We say bye for a better future for each other.
We say bye, because it's time to.
We say bye, because we have to at times.

Look at the huge claw thing at the middle!
Can you guess where it is?
It's Cape Town stadium where the FIFA World Cup was hold.
Wondering of the massive claw and the crowd?
They were there for U2 concert.
It seems like U2 was rocking Cape Town pretty hard last Friday.

Let's paint the old grey colour wall with colourful paints and pretty stuff like a butterfly, bird, bee, you and me.
It would help to paint our damaged hearts from war, poverty and disease with rainbow colours to dream of a better future that will happen some day.

On a lovely day when the sun is sunny up, we usually chill at the lawn with a glass of wine or a cup of drink. We then enjoy the sun!
If it was in Cape Town, it would be a better idea to chill at the close beach.

It's actually at the north-eastern Africa.

Hectic with days only going forward?
Sometimes just take a break and look up to the sky.
Isn't it pretty?
It is alright to take things slow at times. No one is rushing you.

Jingle bells jingle bells jingle all the way~!
Feeling the Christmas?
What comes to your mind first when you think of Christmas?
Christmas present? Santa? Holiday? Jesus? Snow? Snowman?
In South Africa, Christmas does not happen in winter.
So there would not be neither snow nor snowman.
It is because it is summer time at that time.
It has different cycle of seasons from Europe so it is the other way around.
Well, although the season is different, Christmas atmosphere is everywhere in South Africa too.
Oh, and that is Christmas Boabab tree in Sandton city.
Pretty isn't it?

I remember the very first day I arrived South Africa.
I finally landed in South Africa after a long journey that took about 20 hours.
It was pretty hectic before visiting South Africa with visa process, paper works and of course packing.
Hence I had no time to expect how South Africa would be like.
Well, to be honest, I do not usually expect or hope something when I am on travel.
That is my way of travelling.
Just get there and be there with the people.
The first day I landed in South Africa is rather memorable since it was much colder than I thought and the orange sun was welcoming me. Also, it is because I could take this picture of a plane in the airport although I got scolded after all.
Ah. I miss South Africa.

Are you planning to travel South Africa?
Or are you already in South Africa?
Or are you dreaming of South Africa while reading this blog?
What is your story?

P.s. Woohoo! It is already 50th post!

Heard that South Africa is like a heaven for gays?
You are probably right.
South Africa is one of states to respect gays and offer them equal opportunities.
It is also allowed to have a same-sex marriage in South Africa.

Come to feel the Africa.
You would drop off at a place where parties never stop.
You would stop by at a place where indigenous people live as preserving their traditions.
You would pass by a place where you could find different side of yourself that you did not know about yourself.
You would stay at a place where you see lions, zebras and giraffes.

You would visit all different places in Africa.
However, one thing that would be the same is that you would enjoy every part of Africa.

Do you have anyone waiting for you to come home safely?
That would be nice..

What I'd like to share with you today is not a picture.
It's music.
Have you heard of a South African group, Freshlyground before?

I first met them performing at the Light Festival - turning on lights for Christmas decorations in Cape Town.
I was absolutely fascinated by their performance. It felt like someone is singing the soul. It was just simply amazing.

I then met Zolani Mahola, the lead singer of Freshlyground for work. She is an ambassador of a non-profit organisation, Step Up 4 Life - check her out at http://www.stepupforlife.org.za/index_zolani.html. This bubbly girl has amazing power to sing out people's soul.

So here we go sharing Freshlyground. :)
They have become known more internationally after cooperating with Shakira for the World Cup song, Waka Waka.

and check out more of their songs.
Here you go.

Among numerous my favorite songs of them, this is my favvvvv favorite song.
Present you my most favorite song of Freshlyground, 'pot belly'.

It was just another day for me to chill at the beach.
While I was relaxing at the beach, I saw this man playing the saxophone on the beach.
He was not really begging for money, yet just playing music... on the beach.
I can tell you that he was not really begging for money, because he did not approach people while playing. He just stood little bit far away from where people were hanging out.

I still do not know what I exactly felt while watching him, but then I did know that I just want to take a picture of him.

Have tequila like someone says "when life gives you lemon ask for salt and tequila!"
and if that was not good enough, head to Long street for cheap great shots.
The most expensive shot, Missed my flight is only R14 which means it only costs less than US$2.
How awesome is that?
Well, I have never been to the state hence I am not sure how much one shot costs there, however I am pretty sure it would be more 2 dollars.
It is so cheap till someone I know very well decided to try all the shots on the menu one night.
Not to mention that that someone has the same name as me :P

You can find cheap shots at Abantu and also Bob's on Long street.
